I wrote a memoir-type piece for the Portuguese American Journal while I was studying law. Though I had published a considerable amount of my writing, that piece felt different from anything else I had ever written because of the depth of engagement.

I was so overwhelmed by all the responses to that article, how different people were able to connect with it around the world in various ways, and how it opened the door for others to share their stories. A blog felt like the natural progression to deepen and enrich that connection.
